Meet Kaleigh
I am Kaleigh Livingston and I have been working for the local government for over sixteen years. I began working as an intern in a Gwinnett municipality, where I discovered my passion for learning occupational tax law and helping entrepreneurs accomplish their dreams to become business owners. I spent about eleven years with the city because my coworkers were like family and the customers became friends.
In 2018, I went to work for a municipality in DeKalb. I was responsible for licensing and revenue tasks, accounting practices, and became certified to be a City Clerk. I expanded my knowledge in zoning verifications. I also prepared agenda items and kept minutes for council meetings and appeal boards.
In 2021, I started working for Gwinnett County in the Licensing and Revenue section as the supervisor and later was promoted to manager. While with Gwinnett I proposed multiple ordinance revisions to be more aligned with the needs of the community. I also proposed and acquired business and alcohol applications to be translated into Spanish and Korean, attempting to further connect with the diverse community I serve. I also completed several finance courses, received numerous certifications in professional development and built everlasting relationships. I am competent using SAP, iNovah, and familiar with the audit process that Gwinnett recently implemented. My biggest accomplishment was leading other professionals to understand their importance when issuing occupational tax certificates while taking much pride in educating new business owners of their responsibilities.
In each above jurisdiction, I have served in various capacities on Appeal Boards. These boards hear claims brought against businesses who are accused of violating local ordinances and state laws. My expertise will help ensure your business operates legally and not jeopardize your livelihood, like the many I have witnessed. I also oversaw hotel / motel, car rental and alcohol excise taxes, Financial Institutes and Marketplace Facilitator accounts. I have been an active member of Georgia Association of Business Tax Officials (GABTO) for fifteen years. This organization provided me with a great opportunity to network with various jurisdictions, state entities, and build relationships.
I have much experience working with the 42 Professional Boards and a multitude of state entities such as the Department of Community Health, Department of Revenue, and Environmental Health. Each regulatory board has its own requirements for operating. Working for the government I gained great insight to the ins and outs. I am now seeking out my community and surrounding areas to apply my skills, knowledge and quality work for you and your business!
